Funtasy Island During the Verge of Extinctions

            PT. Batam Island Marina, the developer of the so called Mega-Project “Funtasy Island” seems to have more trouble lately. The project which said to cost around $200 million and located in Riau Archipelago are questioned when they can’t pay the contractors. Which leads to another questions, where did the money went?

One of the labor from PT. Chungma we’ve interviewed are complaining that they didn’t received any payments until New Year comes, and it’s been a year. We’ve been promised for many times, and our patience has run out. Mr. Jeon, the president of PT. Chungma also said that they do what they can by asking their payment for many times, but they only get some portion of it.

The Labor has been reporting PT. Chungma to Disnaker, and the police for a fraud. Therefore Mr. Jeon will direct this matter to PT. Batam Island Marina. “We’ve been coming to their office across Gelora Bung Karno, but their Director Luky Winata is avoiding us. He never pick up our call nor reply messages.

“If they're not willing to pay, they can just say so. So we can take another action to take what’s rightfully ours. How many people’s lives are ruined because of this? I’m sure there will be many leads to where the money went. Tax investigator will love it.”

PT. Batam Island Marina, also have trouble with their own labor recently. Not to mention with the illegal immigrant labor from China who continue working on the projects, and territorial dispute with Singapore. “This Developer have many issues. If we go down because of them, we will drag them along with us", they said.
